sociology, law, and gender studies and they give a different picture, one of prejudice, marginalization, and lack of opportunity for Black Canadians that still exist today. This wasn’t an easy read, not because it was too pedantic - it wasn’t - but because it challenges the mythologies of inclusion most white Canadians have internalized, myths that are hard to give up but must if we are to be the nation we like to think we are. It is, however, an important one and should be in every school and library in Canada.
