Just didnt grab me, for what it was I would have rather read Caesars original writing again. I think it would be good for someone who hasnt read 'The Gallic War' by Julius Caesar but if you have already read it this book doesnt introduce much new and just rehashes the text, often quoting large

This book, despite its title, focuses upon the narrow issue of Caesar's two expeditions to Britain. The discussion is well done and detailed.
However, the majority of Caesar's Gallic campaign is treated in a cursory fashion, and does not impart any particularly interesting or informative insights.
One concern is that the author repeats some inaccuracies. As an example, the author states that while in Egypt Caesar's actions resulted in "the almost total destruction of the Library of Alexandria." Scholarship has established this is a myth, as the library and majority of its works were in existence for a few centuries thereafter. Such inaccuracies diminish the author's overall credibility.
A recommended read for those interested in the expeditions to Britain. For a more detailed discussion of the overall Gallic campaign, there are far better works
