Treating the Aftermath of Sexual Abuse: A Handbook for Working With Children in Care

This handbook is intended to guide caregivers and other professionals as they learn to understand the child’s story in the signs and signals that he or she gives them through behavior. As caregivers become careful, thoughtful listeners, they will be able to use day-to-day events in helping the child tell his or her story, understand how abuse has shaped the child’s life, and find the path to healing.
