Local notes
When this book came out it was one of first truly open and accessible books about puberty for young people. The book addresses many questions that teens have about puberty, body changes, homosexuality, sex roles, and communication. Clear beautiful drawings, show the human body, what each part does and how it changes during adolescents. Some information in the book is dated, such as the section on contraception and it does not address HIV/AIDS at all. However, much of the information is timeless and the authors offer suggestions for parents about how to use the book and have conversations with their children. It was written by the creators of The Joy of Sex.
