The illustrations of this book are enchanting as the illustrator captures the brutal Alaskan winter that allows the reader to be chilled from the pictures and feel the characters' struggles as they cross the glacier.
The story expresses bravery and companionship of Stickeen the dog, which I loved. I also enjoyed the suspense from the book and feel as though young readers would as well.
