Local notes

In this essay I will talk about how Processwork has shaped and changed me as a person enabling me to
bring my own art into the world. I learned from the paradigm how to cross personal edges and how,
more universally, to see art as a facilitator of the human spirit. Furthermore, I look at the concept of
performer as facilitator and how to interweave Processwork concepts and teachings to frame my
songwriting and cathartic experiences in my performances. I ask the question, how can Processwork
techniques and ideas inform artistic perspective and inspiration? How has Processwork allowed me to
become more of my authentic self and allowed me to share my creative spirit with the world? How can
one use performance and songwriting alongside facilitation to deepen musical experience and dually
teach Processwork ideas and methodology? This past year I wrote my first solo album as my final
project to complete my Processwork graduate studies. There are twelve songs in total on the album and
the cover design and subsequent production required weeks and months of planning, trial-and-error
attempts. The process in total demanded a tremendous amount of heart, vulnerability, and dedication. I
am indebted to Processwork for providing me the foundation and confidence to pursue my creative
spirit. I believe everyone has their own inner creative genius within; we need only to give it space to
bloom
