These are short, connected stories about a day in the life of Fox who is looking for a job because he ruined his bike. He can't seem to hold a job for more than a minute..until the end.

Charming little book about a fox who tries to earn money for a new bike. He comes up with several clever ways and different jobs. I also like how the story teaches children the message about responsable.

While not noted as such, I use this book as a Hi-Lo reader (as I can with many of James Marshall's stories). While the language is simple, the characters, decisions, problems, and feelings in the story are not. And Fox can be quite a character!
