This is native American folklore about Mount Rainier.
The author describes a story handed down by the native Indians of the region.
In the story the god of the mountain is displeased when an Indian takes something from the mountain without giving thanks.
The story is well written and there are plenty

of illustrations.
The big text and abundant large illustrations lend the book to being perfect for children.
The book also teaches an ethics lesson, shared by western culture, making the book worth reading to most of us in the United States, not just the native Americans.
