This is my first time reading a book in this series, so naturally I compared it with the Borrowers. I didn't like it quite as much- it was more adventure oriented, and less tuned to the more interesting details of being tiny.

during a snow storm. She ends up being taken captive by "ground littles" who are afraid of "tree littles" and have never even heard of "house littles," such as herself. She wins them over, the baby is delivered, and everyone is friends in the end. Show Less

Genre: Fantasy
Age Appropriateness: Intermediate/Middle School
Review: This book is a good example of fantasy because the main characters are the Littles, which is a family of little people who are trying to find their beloved aunt. Aunt Lily is thrown out of the glider during a snowstorm as she was
Media: This is a good example of pencil media because the few illustrations in the book display wide ranges of different line sizes and shading to enhance pictures. The color is sepia-toned and mirrors the story’s realism and helps the readers visualize the text.
Characterization: Aunt Lily is a round character because she is thrown out of the glider and lost in the woods during a snowstorm. She was captured by other tiny people family, realizing that they live intensely different lives. She developed more fully through her encounter.
