A great little book for elementary age students that offers mini labs that you can do along with the book. Each section has clear photographs, background info and explanations of what you should see when you do the lab. The book starts off explaining what growth is, showing how plants grow (bean

seed), explaining what seeds need with another lab, demonstrates how temperature and light can affect growth, Shows how you can grow a carrot from a carrot top and covers other "cuttings" that you can grow including a strawberry plant, provides an experiment involving root power, indoor gardens, water plants and oxygen, and ends with fungus and spoors including a very cool experiment involving yeast and a balloon!

Children will learn alot from this book and will feel inspired to complete the labs at home. Everything is very simple, but informative.
