Although it isn't as good as the first story this tale of underhanded dealings in the Elizabethan Naval Shipyards and the kidnapping of a girl is interesting. Though I'm not sure that the story was more based on interesting research than a story that really flowed from the characters.

Grace is an

interesting character and is starting to really grow into her own person in this story. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

This is the second book in the excellent young adult, historical fiction, mystery series that is really written by Patricia Finney. Finney puts together the excellent historical research she uses for her adult books and makes a wonderful entry-level series for young readers interested in historical

fiction. The heroine is great, the plot entertains, and there is some lovely humor sprinkled throughout. I enjoyed these as an adult reader as a quick read, and I think others would too. Highly recommended.

Second in the Lady Grace Mysteries, a series of books for young adults, especially appealing to girls. I appreciate the spunkiness and daring of the young Lady Grace, star of the novels. Her adventures might seem unbelievable, but they do provide a smacking good read. There is enough wow factor,

grungy description, and silliness to appeal to teens.

Another great historical fiction piece. Love the combination of Elizabeth and the nautical life.
