I found this book well-written with good stories. For some reason, although I am not particularly fond of dogs (I am more a cat person), this book touched touched me. I would suggest this book to middle readers who are interested in learning more about Abenaki Native Americans. I would use this

book in a school curriculum or on a reading list at a public library for fifth-graders. I would especially suggest this book if a child loved dogs.
