This volume in the 'Mysterious Places' series (for readers aged 8-12) presents ten important sites around the shores of the Mediterranean sea, such as Delphi, Mistra, Rhodes and Hagia Sophia. Includes a further reading guide and an index. Each of the volumes in the series is simplified and adapted from Wilkinson and Ingpen's 'Encyclopedia of Mysterious Places' (Dragon's World, 1990). The Australian illustrator won the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1986. First published in the UK by Dragon's World (1992).
