I recomend this book to those teaching recent history, (depression era). It tells of a part of history not well known. People of the Blue Ridge Mountains lost their homes and family farms due to the presidents "New Deal". A Little known fact in our nations past. In order to create jobs, National

parks were created at the cost of peoples homes and land. Well written good story telling. For those who care to know there is a 'Waltons' episod from the old TV show that covers this very subject.
