catalogues this book as fiction, because the story told in the book IS a fiction story. But in my storytimes, I have used it as a 'non-fiction' book because to kids, the story could have very well taken place, the actual animals are used in the photographs, and the words narrate the action in the photographs perfectly. So while it's not TECHNICALLY a non-fiction book, I believe a book like this can build appreciation for the non-fiction genre in children of all ages - even some adults. :-)
