The Circle of Thanks is a collection of Native American poetry and song, focusing on the act of giving thanks. Thirteen different poems and songs are featured, from tribes such as the Hopi, Navajo, Mohawk, and Cherokee, as well as others from around the country. The poems mostly focus on nature,

giving thanks to the sun, moon, rain, trees, and various animals for all that they provide. The end of the book features an explanation of every poem, giving a bit of background on each tribe, their symbols, and their traditions.
This book would be perfect to use in a Thanksgiving activity at the library, to give some perspective on Native American traditions. Children could each read a poem, and then discuss the meanings and the symbols featured in each one. It would also be an excellent book just to have in the collection for curious young readers looking to learn about the Native peoples.
