My kids really love to cook. This book has some recipes in it that they like to

make. I like this book because they are able to read the recipe and do as it says.

I would use this book in the classroom to allow my student to cook something. I would also have them draw their own made up dish from ideas in the book.

This book includes a table of content and index making it easy to find what you need or want to cook. It helps kids learn how to cook with the use of words and pictures. It gives you pictures of all the ingredients with their names underneath them and pictures of how each step is suppose to look.

I
Show More
can relate to this book because my kids and I love to cook. This book would help the kids understand what some of the ingredients are and how to do things in order.

In the classroom, we could practice measuring things by cup, teaspoon, tablespoon, and a pinch. We could also practice putting things inorder and then try not putting the ingredients in order to see why it's important to put the ingredients in order.

The Children’s Step by Step Cook book has many easy recipes for children to learn to follow direction by sight and by instructions. A very good thing to have in the classroom so you can have a lesson on following direction.

I can relate to this book because I LOVE to bake and cook. My 2 yr old is
Show More
in the kitchen with me anytime I’m baking a cake or cookies. He loves to help me stir!

In the classroom, I can have a cooking lesson. They would learn to follow directions from reading the book and also the colorful pictures help too!

Personal Reaction:
I love love LOVE this cookbook for children! I have young nieces who love to cook with me, and this will be the perfect gift so that we can cook together! I love how it has actual pictures of the things that it is talking about and how it explains with pictures in order and words too. Such a great find!! So glad Mrs. White had it and shared it with the class! I will definitely be adding it to my collection very soon!!

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. This would be awesome to make and laminate copies of a few recipes and place them in your home living center for the children to look out/try to cook with.
2. After checking for allergies (of course) maybe find a simple recipe to make with the class as a whole, like fruit salad or fruit kabobs.
3. Have your students write or draw about a time that they have helped in the kitchen and then do a show and tell.

I loved using this as a kid, and now going into my last year in college, and possibly at home, I still love it.
