I found this to be a good, easy to read, informative book and would recommend it to others. It's brief but enlightening and has a nice light tone to it. I've been trying to get my hands on all the other 'telling tales' series, they're all good.

An interview with J.K. Rowling discussing many aspects of her life. Rowling talks about her childhood and family, school days, her career, and her career as a writer. You can find many facts about her life and her stories she writes. This would be a great book to put in the class curriculum if it

involves any Harry Potter books. They would make a great pair together.

Conversations with J.K. Rowling is exactly how it sounds, an interview with the creator of the Harry Potter series. The interview begins with learning some details of Rowling's life. We find out how some characters and places were inspired by Rowling's family and surroundings growing up. Some

questions, such as the one about music, just helps us get to know the author better. We get to see that Rowling first thought up the Harry Potter concept on a train, and just ran with the idea. She had developed a separate story for each character big or small and planned out the Potter series several books in advance. The last half of the book discusses the finer details of Harry Potter. Who is Harry, darker moments of the series, supplementary characters, and games found in the series are all discussed. It is beneficial for readers to meet the authors of their books to get a better feel for their work. Knowing the author can help readers to get more comfortable with the work.

Details: This book was written to interest the young adult population

This book is an interview style biography about J.K. rowling. My only problem with this book is that it is now a little outdated. Other than that, the book is great to use as a resource. It is straight to the point, and organized perfectly.

It was really interesting to learn some things about JKR but I was very disappointed to see a glaring error in the summary of book 2. The Dursleys did NOT withhold his mail, that would be Dobby. Fact checker? or maybe just read the book?

I have a great love for everything Harry Potter and I love finding these old books from before the series was finished. As it turns out this is the second copy of this book I own and didn't realize til half way through that it all seemed familiar. Ha. My other copy has a different cover.

It's a

nice little book. Easy to read and it answers some basic questions about Rowling. Nothing too fancy or life changing. Since the Google machine can find just about anything. But it's cute and simple and a nice read. A little bit of nostalgia.

This is the ONLY authorized biography of J. K. Rowling. It’s basically divided into three parts. The first half of the book are questions posed to Rowling – the sorts of questions her legions of fans might want to ask. This covers her life from childhood to her unimagined success as a writer.

The middle section deals with the books; only the first three had been published when this was written, though book # 4 was ready and is discussed (no spoilers). The last section revisits some of the interviews Rowling’s given with major media outlets – Newsweek or Larry King, for example.

It’s perfectly fine for children, but lacking in the kind of detail adults would like. Since it’s aimed at children I still give it 3 stars.
