I literally fell asleep reading this collection of jump-rope rhymes, most of which are between two to four lines in length. I guess lying on the sofa keeps them from being as stimulating as when one is jumping and hopping as fast as one can.

As a comic strip buff, I did find it interesting that

rhymes about Popeye and Blondie and Dagwood Bumstead made it into the folklore, but that was as good as it got for me.
