Description
"Every spring, Pinkalicious loves to see all of the beautiful flowers and blossoming trees come to life in her family's garden. Of course, Pinkalicious knows that the blooming garden is all because of the hard work of the fairies! This year, Pinkalicious wants to be ready for the fairies' arrival, so she makes a cozy house for the fairies to stay in during their visit. Peter and Pinkalicious camp out in the backyard, waiting for the fairies to appear--but will they be able to see them?"--Jkt. flap.

Upfront admission: I am not a fan of the pinkalicious craze. The books seem slight at best and play into young girls' passion for pink and purple and young readers' pleasure in series. Pinky dances into the wrong dance class in this book, feels overwhelmed by the advanced kids before she (and the

teacher) realizes she's in the wrong class, but she's spun enough to know, she will want to keep dancing and achieve this goal. The BEST part of the book, however, is its appendix, which explains how the I can read series started and then details what inspired each of a host of popular series. Dellightful. And what a boon for teachers who are doing author studies with kids who get these tidbits to share about how authors conceived of their series. Show Less
