Detective Zach Jordan and his partner, Kylie MacDonald--the woman who broke his heart at the police academy--are the best of the best, brilliant and tireless investigators who will stop at nothing to catch a criminal, even if it means antagonizing the same high-flying citizens they're supposed to be helping. When a glitzy movie premiere is the scene of a shocking murder and high-stakes robbery, NYPD Red gets the call. Brain candy redux. Is there anything else from Patterson?
Like his Bennett series, I enjoy this one for its NYC hook, although I definitely yelled at he & Karp for having Jordan/McDonald call the bridges RFK & KOch because who *does* that?
As addicted as Zach is to Kylie, I am to this duo. The

hospital plot was a little out there, but I liked the Bassets and Annie. Annie Got your Knife meets the poaching dentist.

Great book. This is one of my favorite James Patterson series. The characters are real and believable. This series does not hide that the rich and powerful often get special treatment. I cannot wait for the next book in the NYPD Red Series to be released.

Zach and Kylie are involved in finding the murderer of a celebrity wearing a very valuable necklace which was stolen during the robbery. A second case involves the mayor’s husband asking the team to find missing hospital equipment as a favor for her. While working these cases, Kylie’s husband

is out of control on heroin and she’s searching for him and Zach and she keeps calling on Zach for help and putting his relationship with Cheryl in jeopardy.

I have never before read a James Patterson novel as I don't read light fiction. But I must say this was marvelous. Action packed. I like the very modern way he writes. Glib, lots of modern lingo. Fast paced. I am glad I read it and may try another of his books.

Marshall and James return for a fourth installment of Detectives Jordan and MacDonald, of NYPD Red developed to help the rich and famous. In this episode the detectives find themselves dealing with a robbery gone wrong and some old demons reemerging, the authors deal with this with a combination of

humor, pathos, and a little shock.

Solid thriller. Action packed. Cliche ridden. In the midst of solving two crimes simultaneously, their personal problems mount to a level where they should be sidelined. Their manager should be canned or their writer should get a grip. One can always pick up a James Patterson novel and enjoy it.

Some are a little worse than others...some are better. This one's middlin' I'd read a NYPD 5 if there was one.

In this offering of the NYPD Red series, Kylie is looking for her drug addicted husband who has abandoned his rehab centre. She uses police resources and encroaches on Zach's time, almost destroying his relationship. She is erratic and selfish and I find it harder to like her all the time. On the
Show More
other hand, I really liked Zach's character in this story. He drops everything to help Kylie, he tries very hard to keep his relationship with the doctor alive and works his butt off to solve crimes. I thought Annie, the older grifter in the story, was wonderful. Trying to juggle both crimes at the same time along with trying to find Kylie's husband keeps them on their toes. A quick read with a lot of action.

A good read that gets better as you move along through the story.

I continued the chain of only listening to these in audio format. This case is trying to solve the mystery of a jewelry theft that left a Hollywood star dead. Turns out the theft wasn’t supposed to end in murder but there was something wrong with the case. And to add to the workload for Zach and
Show More
Kylie they are having to bust a theft ring hitting hospitals of high quality equipment. The second case they need to work quietly and the murder case has to be solved ASAP. To add some tension to the duo Kylie’s husband is missing from rehab and she is trying everything she can to find him. This puts pressure on Zach and Cheryl’s relationship as well.

A fun entertaining read that I didn’t need to pay that much attention to in audio format as I did other things.

Another quick read by James Patterson, a continuation of the NYPD Red series. Kylie AND Zach continue to partner as elite cops solving high profile cases, while they struggle with their personal lives and relationships. Always enjoyable.

Constantly moving but a little too much like a soap opera
