A huge amount of information is available on the internet for family historians tracing their Irish ancestors. It is not, however, always easy to find the specific information required. This directory makes the task much easier. It tells you where to look, alerts you to the wide range of sites now available, and makes it much easier to identify those likely to be of interest. It covers a wide range of topics, ranging from basic sources such as registers of births, marriages and deaths, to the origins of surnames and published pedigrees. Numerous databases are listed, covering sources such as the census, Griffiths' valuation, and emigration records.
