ABSTRACT:
This Modular Industrial Solar Retrofit (MISR) system is designed to be retrofitted to an existing industrial facility. When insolation is sufficient, it will generate saturated steam in a safe and reliable manner with a minimum of operator intervention.

heat-transfer loop to deliver hot, pressurized water from the solar collectors to the heat exchanger (SG-101). The water is then recirculated through the accumulator tank (TK-101) to the collectors via a centrifugal pump (P-101), as illustrated in Figure 1.1. In the heat exchanger (SG-101), feed water from the condenser is converted into saturated steam up to 250 lb/in^2g. The accumulator tank (TK-101) accommodates the thermal expansion of water and ensures that boiling is prevented within the heat-transfer loop. During normal operation the plant is controlled by automatic analog controllers. Show Less
