One of my favorites of the year. Very interesting and inspirational, by THE Bill Gates' father.

I am about a third of this guy's age, and I cannot imagine what it would be like to have the mental energy to do all of the things that he and his family do! It's a great book if you'd like to learn how to be more involved in the community and the world.

An excellent, very readable primer of common sense wisdom of humanity. Sadly common sense today has become UNCOMMON; would be great if this was required reading for adults.
Bill Gates Sr.'s positive attitude describes examples of people showing up to do good for their families, neighbors, countries
His priorities are the fields of science, medicine, education, and agriculture. He shows how it doesn't have to take much to show up and do much good. Just need to be willing and caring. Groups of regular people working together can improve lives.
Anyone reading this can benefit, and help others benefit.

and the world. He starts off with the good points of his own family, and extends to neighbors, colleagues, and friends, and strangers he's met as the co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. He credits a few of those special individuals who have helped the world historically and in modern times. As well as those who had the strength and courage to do what they could to get help for their children and communities. His priorities are the fields of science, medicine, education, and agriculture. He shows how it doesn't have to take much to show up and do much good. Just need to be willing and caring. Groups of regular people working together can improve lives.
