"PG: Some language, crude humor." The movie adapts a book that is more than usually imaginative for a PC fairy-tale. Full of contemporary tropes and stereotypes, despite its trademark reversal. Academy Awards had a slow year.

An ogre and a donkey rescue a princess.
1/4 (Bad).
I didn't expect this to hold up to time and went in expecting something crude or obnoxious. Turns out, it's just really tedious. It's not slow, but every moment of it so completely fails to connect that it's about as entertaining as watching someone
