The exceptionally talented young actor who plays Mowgli, the excellent animation and voice talent, were not enough to keep me interested. This is still a Disney movie and so it wallows in the banal.

None of the animated animals was nearly as creepy as Aslan was in the Narnia movies.

Entertaining life action / animation remake of Jungle Book. The CGI was obviously CGI but good enough to not be distracting.

This movie of the book is problematic for me. It is over the top. The original story is great, but it does not have Hollywood's glitter all over it. I did not like many of the voices they chose for the animals. It might have been better if they had cast unknown's. I particularly did not like

Scarlet Johansson, although I like her in other movies I have seen. They amped up the ACTION/ADVENTURE at the expense of the charming real story. Now, here's what I did like. There have been several other versions, and they are total smaltz. This one does great with the animated, speaking animals, just poor voice choices. I particularly liked the wolves and Neel Sethi who plays Mowgli. I did enjoy it. It just wasn't as on plot as I would have liked.
