This a cute fun book. The pictures are really colorful and fun. It is not a literary master piece but it is a fun book for children to read. .

Gilbert the goldfish has everything he could ever need, but he really wants a pet. This story tells of the pets that arrive outside his fish bowl, but none of them are quite right. One pet is too loud, another pet runs away, and yet another falls victim to the fly swatter. But don't fret, but the

close of the story the "just right" pet arrives in Gilbert's fish bowl to share with him the colorful flakes of food he enjoys each day. This book could provide for a great spring board for a writing prompt about the "just right" pet for a child. The colorful illustrations paired with a fun variety of fonts in the text makes this book visually pleasing. This book could be utilized in a variety of ways for students in grades Pre-K through grade 2.
