I thought the book would be perfect for younger kids. It has a good example of what a good young boy or girl should be like, very caring and sweet to the people around them. Here you see the innocence of the little boy, and how many think that things are not possible, but by a little kid can things
Show More
be made known. The old woman had her precious memory restored to her, thanks to a little boy who was not that old.

The pictures are great!!! This little boy with a big name bonds to the people in the old folks home next door. The pictures of these old people really look like the elderly do. This is a really fun book!!!

Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge is the story of a boy with four names who lives next to an "old peoples' home" which he visits often and as made many friends.

I liked this story because it shows young people that they can relate to the older generation. This book also shows children how much joy
Show More
they can bring into a senior citizens life if they just reach out like this little boy.

You could use this book to teach children how precious memories are to senior citizens and how they enjoy sharing their memories. This book would also be helpful to read to a group of children that you are going to take to a nursing home so that the children could see that it is not such a scary place.

Grade 1-3 A small boy, Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, knows and likes all of the old folks in the home next door, but his favorite is Miss Nancy Alison Delacourt Cooper she has four names, too. Hearing that she has lost her memory, he asks the old folks what a memory is ("Something from long
Show More
ago" ; "Something that makes you laugh;" "Something warm;" etc.), ponders the answers, then gathers up memories of his own (seashells collected long ago last summer, a feathered puppet with a goofy expression, a warm egg fresh from the hen) to give her. In handling Wilfrid's memories, Nancy finds and shares her own. The illustrationssplashy, slightly hazy watercolors in rosy pastelscontrast the boy's fidgety energy with his friends' slow, careful movements and capture the story's warmth and sentiment.

This story is about a young boy named Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge who lived next door to an old people's home. This little boy loved to go visit with the old people and learn about all kinds of things. He made friends with all of the old people; however, he liked Miss Nancy Alison Delacourt

Cooper the best because she had a name just as long as his. One day, he heard his parents talking about her and the fact that she has lost her memory. His parents explained to him what a memory was, but he wanted to know more so he asked several old people he had become friends with. Each person had a somewhat different answer. Based on each of the answers, he found several items that met that criteria and then placed them in a basket to give Miss Nancy Alison Delacourt Cooper. This basket truly helped her because she soon began to remember several things from her past, including the day she met Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge.
I would read this book to students in kindergarten through third grade. A good time to read this is when explaining to students the importance of helping others. This book emphasizes the value of kindness by showing the good that can come from it.

Good book to show students how memories have an everlasting impact on our lives. Shows how others can impact us just as much as we can impact them.

This book is great for teaching students what a memory is. We can tell students that certain objects, people, and places will remind them of memories. We can have students do an activity describing different objects that remind them of a wonderful memory.
