Description

"Finding the farmhouse is no picnic for this pack of panicky poultry! The four big chickens are all cooped up when their dream is to see the farmhouse--so they set out in search of it. But what makes something a farmhouse anyway? A roof? Not, that's a doghouse! A chimney? No, that's a tractor! It's nothing but mixed-up mayhem when hapless hens with the right idea go looking for the farmhouse in all the wrong places. Sidesplitting silliness abounds as those crazy chickens return with another flapping-fluffing-squawking-flocking farmyard adventure. Henry Cole's boisterous art captures the spirit of this riotously funny new read-aloud and follow-up to the smash hit Big Chickens."--From publisher description.

Summary:
This book is about some chickens that want to see the farmhouse but they run into a bit of trouble.

My Thoughts:
I think it's a funny book and a great book for kids and teachers. The funniest part is when they go the long way to get to the farm house.

Four chickens want to see the farmhouse but are timid in their search. After several attempts and some misadventures they finally find it not far from their backdoor. Goofy and fun for younger audience. Encourages exploration.

Another in the Big Chicken series. Bright pictures, short sentences, silly animals and all around fun.

One of two books about four chickens who long to be adventurous. In this story the chickens make their way to the farmhouse while encountering obstacles along the way. This is a great book to share with very young children as the pictures are full of color and detail and the text is quirky and fun.
