Max is a right-brained kid in his sister Ruby's left brained world. It doesn't bother him a bit and things work out for everyone.

A story about greed at Easter with Well's favorite characters, Ruby and Max.

Max and his sister Ruby are about to go on an Easter egg hunt. The only objective Max has to win is to obtain a chocolate chicken that was there for the winner. However, while on the hunt Max gets distracted by the nature around him and Ruby finds all the eggs. Max sneaks over to the chocolate

This is the story of max and his friend who find a chocolate chicken in the bird bath. Max and Ruby make a bet that whoever finds the most easter eggs wins the chocolate chicken, but max eats it anyways. In the end, another chocolate chicken is placed in the bird bath and both people get to eat one!

As a non-Christian I normally don't bother reading book about Easter, but I thought this one was really cute. Max's sister is just so much better and finding Easter eggs so He must find a different way to get the chocolate chicken prize. The book has cute illustrations that made me smile.

I've seen the show Max and Ruby before but I didn't really like it because I thought Max was a problem child. He was always doing something that he had no business doing. This time around, I guess it's Easter and Max finds a chocolate chicken in his birdbath. Ruby tells him that whoever finds the

most eggs gets the chocolate chicken. Well, Ruby finds all of the eggs while Max finds a mud puddle, acorns, a spoon and ants. When Max figures out that Ruby is going to win the chocolate chicken, he takes the chicken and runs away and hides from her. He then eats the chicken up and when he finally comes out, he and Ruby find a chocolate duck now sitting on their birdbath. The story is okay but I don't really like how Max acts. He's very stingy and selfish. Ruby was being fair with him but he went off and stole the chocolate chicken from her. Thankfully, someone left a chocolate duck for Ruby. I think some kids will enjoy this book but not all of them will.

I just didn't feel the love for this book, which I checked out in honor of the upcoming Easter holiday. The thought of a chocolate chicken sounded cute, but I didn't identify with Max in this story, eventhough I am the younger sibling in my family. Ah, well, can't win them all. :)

This was definitely not one of my favorite Holiday books. The book describes Max cheating during the Easter egg hunt and hurting his sister’s feelings, however, there were absolutely no repercussions for his behavior. In he end, he ate half of the chocolate bunny and gave his sister the remaining

chunk of it. The book ended abruptly, meaning that the author did not do a great job at tying together the message and plot of the story. The main message of the story was following rules and Easter traditions.

This was not my favorite easter book. I have seen the show max and ruby so I figured I'd one of the books. Although, this would be a cute book to teach about brother/sister relationships and the importance of sharing.

I'm going to be honest, I don't care for this one as much. Why does Max get away with eating the chocolate chicken? It seems unfair. I was always the Ruby type myself, I guess. I did enjoy all the weird positions into which Max contorts himself and the things he's interested in.
