I already had 'See the Cat' in my library so I was excited to see the next in the series. The book includes three little stories for which the cat steps in to cover for the sick dog. One side of each page-spread mimics the text of early literacy readers - "See the dog" and "see the dog run". The
Show More
other side provides humorous dialogue from the cat as well as colorful illustrations. My favorite is the third story which includes an adorable sheep who is unwittingly dragged into some shenanigans. Kids will love all the silliness.

'See the Dog" is a very silly, happy book. Even as an adult, i giggled the whole way thru. The illustrations add to the fun. I love how expressive the cat is and I especially like the sheep story. Very fun book the give and share with children.

Funy story about a cat but titled "See the Dog". Kids will laugh with this funny story and adults will, too. Although rather nonsensical, it will make you laugh out loud at times. I am donating this to my public library, for all to enjoy.

The dog is sick today and the book needs a replacement. The cat decides to step in/ Can the cat do all the things that need to be done?
This funny easy to read book contains three stories that are enhanced by Mike Wohnoutka's colorful drawings.

This was a very clever book that I enjoyed very much. I read it to my infant daughter who loved looking at the bright and bold illustrations. I know she will find a lot of humor in the book when she gets older. I envision her reading parts of the stories to me when she begins to read. This book

will keep a space on her bookshelf for many years! Thank you.

A ridiculously cute effervescent blue cat is taking over the dog’s tasks as he is sick. Story Number One: See the Dog. “See the dog run”. No problem. “Ta-da!” “See the dog bark”. “MEOW! Oops. I mean bow-wow. Hee-hee!” Dig a hole? Okay, a little harder to do. But the clever kitty
Show More
gets a machine digger to do the digging. Story Number Two: See the Lake. Uh-oh. “You’ve got to be kidding.” This one is hilarious as the little cat jumps into a tiny puddle screaming. See the dog get the stick. Kitty is roasting marshmallows. Story Number Three: See the Sheep. Can a cat protect sheep from a wolf? Fortunately neither the cat nor the sheep are eaten by the wolf.

The gouache illustrations are perfect. The cat has a huge mouth that is more than capable of screaming. Artwork is simple with cat as the centerpiece. The cat’s words, done in Coop Forged, appear in a bubble while the story is told in Myriad font, large and very easy to read.

The dog is sick today. In steps the cat to replace him in the story. But the cat is aghast at what he is being asked to do...dig a hole?...swim across the lake?...retrieve a stick? The results are comic.

In this companion to See the Cat: Three Stories About a Dog, the cat takes a spin as the main character following the directions of the book. But can a cat truly take the place of a dog? Everyone knows cats and dogs are radically different creatures!

As with the previous title, this is a humorous
Show More
book that breaks down the fourth wall with its metaness. The cat is not fond of doing typical dog tricks like digging and fetching, but tries so hard to be obedient to the book’s demands. All of this results in many comedic moments.

Subtitled as “Three Stories about a Cat,” this title delivers with three brief chapters that work together but make for good places to stop and rest for beginning readers who might need that pause. On the whole though, the book uses a relatively simple and limited vocabulary to be easy enough for youngsters to understand and read on their own.
