This is an okay example of informational fiction. It is told in a story sort of form so it will keep younger readers engaged. However, it does not give a lot of information It gives a very vague description of each of the baby animals. But it's not overly informational.

I give this a three for the illustrations alone! Adorable baby animals. There isn't much there in the text but it gives one fact about each species. e.g. "Baby kangaroo practices taking long hops. He uses his big tail for balance so he won't fall.
