Description

Fiction. Literature. Romance. HTML:NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY LIBRARY JOURNAL In this enchanting novel set at Cedar Coves cozy Rose Harbor Inn, Debbie Macomber celebrates the power of loveand a well-timed love letterto inspire hope and mend a broken heart.   Summer is a busy season at the inn, so proprietor Jo Marie Rose and handyman Mark Taylor have spent a lot of time together keeping the property running. Despite some folks good-natured claims to the contrary, Jo Marie insists that Mark is only a friend. However, she seems to be thinking about this particular friend a great deal lately. Jo Marie knows surprisingly little about Marks life, due in no small part to his refusal to discuss it. Shes determined to learn more about his past, but first she must face her ownand welcome three visitors who, like her, are setting out on new paths.   Twenty-three-year-old Ellie Reynolds is taking a leap of faith. Shes come to Cedar Cove to meet Tom, a man shes been corresponding with for months, and with whom she might even be falling in love. Ellies overprotective mother disapproves of her trip, but Ellie is determined to spread her wings.   Maggie and Roy Porter are next to arrive at the inn. They are taking their first vacation alone since their children were born. In the wake of past mistakes, they hope to rekindle the spark in their marriageand to win back each others trust. But Maggie must make one last confession that could forever tear them apart.   For each of these characters, it will ultimately be a moment when someone wore their heart on their sleeveand took pen to paperthat makes all the difference. Debbie Macombers moving novel reveals the courage it takes to be vulnerable, accepting, and open to love. BONUS: This edition includes an excerpt from Debbie Macomber's Silver Linings. Praise for Love Letters   Romance and a little mystery abound in this third installment of Macombers series set at Cedar Coves Rose Harbor Inn. . . . Readers of Robyn Carr and Sherryl Woods will enjoy Macombers latest, which will have them flipping pages until the end and eagerly anticipating the next installment.Library Journal (starred review)   Mending a broken heart is not always easy to do, but Macomber succeeds at this beautifully inLove Letters. . . . Quite simply, this is a refreshing take on most love storiesthere are twists and turns in the plot that keep readers on their toesand the author shares up slices of realism, allowing her audience to feel right at home.Bookreporter   Macombers mastery of womens fiction is evident in her latest. . . . [She] breathes life into each plotline, carefully intertwining her characters stories to ensure that none of them overshadow the others. Yet it is her ability to capture different facets of emotion which will entrance fans and newcomers alike.Publishers Weekly   Love Letters is another wonderful story in the Rose Harbor series. Genuine life struggles with heartwarming endings for the three couples in this book make it special. Readers wont be able to get enough of Macombers gentle storytelling. Fans already know what a charming place Rose Harbor is and new readers will love discovering it as well.RT Book Reviews (4-1/2....… (more)

Having won Debbie Macomber’s novel ‘Love Letters’ as a Goodreads advance reader’s giveaway, I looked forward to reading this book in her Cedar Cove Series. Situated in Cedar Cove, a charming little town along the Washington coast, the story evolves around, Jo Marie Rose, the proprietor of
Show More
Rose Harbor Inn. Jo Marie, who after two years still grieves over the death of her husband, develops a friendship and curiosity about the history of her mysterious handyman, Mark Taylor. At the inn, Jo Marie also receives Maggie and Roy Porter, who are grappling to overcome issues that have intruded on their relationship and are hoping to rekindle their romance. Jo Marie also receives Ellie Reynolds who is at Cedar Cove to meet the man with whom she has corresponded for months, the man that she has come to love through the Internet.
Although the author is not terribly descriptive in describing features of each character, she does bring them all to life through their actions and dialogue. Without giving too much away, I loved the way that she resolved the issues plaguing Maggie and Roy Porter’s relationship, as well as the way that she found resolution for the conflicts that Ellie Reynolds faced. I was disappointed, however, in how the story ends for Jo Marie Rose. I was hoping for some resolution to her pain, but at the novel’s end, I felt a desire for more. Perhaps the author purposely designed the story to unfold in this way, so that the reader might be enticed to purchase the next book in the Cedar Cove Series. Such ploys can be effective, as I will probably acquire the next work when it becomes available.

I enjoyed this, although I thought it began rather slowly. Once it started moving, it was hard to put down. The characters were varied, the location interesting & the scenarios appearing somewhat mundane yet became fascinating. There were characters almost anyone could identify with. The character
Show More
who met someone on the internet & her family background kept you interested because facts were revealed a little bit at a time. I thought the ending was rather abrupt, but it was good reading & I enjoyed it.

I am really enjoying this series and reading about the new and old characters. When I read this book I felt like I was there at the Inn. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes to escape into a story!

I have to confess that I am a bit disappointed in this book. The main character, Jo Marie, is not terribly likable when it comes to her relationship with Mark, the potential love interest. She's snippy and rude to him. He's rude back of course. As readers we are supposed to see the characters
Show More
progress during the course of a book or in this case a series. So far they are still just cranky around each other. Three books and there's not a lot of love there.

The other stories were pleasant but I found myself skimming in parts. I really enjoyed the first two books of this series but this one didn't work for me. My mother also read it and was disappointed. It's just fluff and that's sad.

I love everything Debbie Macomber writes. A few couples, a few conflicts (some big, some small) and always a happy ending. You know what you're going to get, but not necessarily the path you'll take to get there. A wonderful summer read.

Every time I pick up a book by Debbie Macomber I know I'm going to get a good story with a happy ending. This story centers Jo Marie and Mark telling their story. I don't want to spoil too much but I felt like it's an open ending and could be another book. The story had multiple couples and the
Show More
beginning was a bit slow but stick with it and you'll be glued to the book wanting to find out how everything will wrap up/

I just finished the next book in the Rose Harbor Inn series, and of course, I want more. Jo Marie is still dealing with the loss of Paul, and Mark is still working as the neighborhood handyman, and being mysterious.
We are about to be involved in the lives of a few more of Jo Marie’s guests at the
Show More
inn, and by the end we know them fairly well. You will feel the heartbreak of some of them, and the joy of others. It just feels so great to be back in the Cove, and we meet some of our old friends in a pass by visit, and although I would really like to catch up again in their lives, it just felt great to be with them again.
Loved the connecting theme between these stories, Love Letters, and how they played a part in the lives of these people. Letters that later in their lives have a huge impact on them. Will the letters be positive in how they are received or play a roll in ending their relationship?
I wish I was able to spend time on the deck at the Rose Harbor Inn, and cannot wait for the next book, and a slight preview was offered at the end of the book. Enjoy!

I received this book through Edelwiss, and was not required to give a positive review.

Love Letters by Debbie Macomber
I have read all the other books in this series and enjoy them. Each book brings you up to date so they can also be a stand alone book.
This one continues at the Harbor Rose Inn where Jo Marie runs the B&B and Mark is the handyman. This book is also not only about them
Show More
and others in town but the guests that have come to stay.
One is to meet a man she met online but her mother is pestering her to be careful. Alternating chapters are also about a couple that need time to mend their marriage.
Each one brings new things to the book, underground tour, Pikes Place Market, sailing, farmer's market and so much more.
Love hearing of the relationships each has and what they must overcome. So many surprises along the way for them all. Letters from the past...
I received this book from early reviewers from Library Thing in exchange for my honest review

This was one of her better books. Good story about a couple who are having marital problems, a young girl who is meeting a Facebook potential boyfriend and, of course, an extension of JoMarie, the B&B's owner's, story.
Good set up for the next book also.
I'm glad I requested it. I almost didn't
Show More
because the first in the series was such a snore but as the series continues it is getting more interesting.

When so much correspondence these days is done electronically, it’s a quaint thought to realize that people still have older letters, written with pen and ink, that they have saved to read again. Such is the case with two of the story’s characters. The third main player does it the modern way
Show More
with emails. But all these letters hold special meaning for the recipients. Jo Marie can’t quite put away her past life, even though her husband has been dead for a few years now. Ellie is more than ready to link her future with the man she hopes will be her soul mate, but she has yet to meet him face-to-face. And Maggie and Roy are trying to put past hurts behind them, though they can’t seem to get past blaming each other. Once again, author Debbie Macomber has woven together three different stories into one seamless tale of love and romance. This delightful tale will have you wishing the these characters really existed and that you could spend a week - or more – at Jo Marie’s Rose Harbor Inn. It would be a lovely experience!

Debbie Macomber has done it again.
For anyone who has read a book by this author you know what a treat it is. For anyone who hasn't read one of her books I suggest you do so soon.
Love Letters is the new book I just finished. The novel is set at Cedar Cove's Rose Harbor Inn. Proprietor Jo Marie Rose
Show More
welcomes three new visitors. There's twenty three year old Ellie Reynolds, who has come to Cedar Cove to meet a man she's been writing to for months. Then there are Maggie and Roy Porter, who are on vacation to rekindle the spark in their marriage and win back each other's trust.
While dealing with her guest, Jo Marie tries to figure out why her handyman, Mark Taylor, is so secretive about his past.
I could have read this book in one day but chose not to so I could savor each word.

Another perfectly delightful read by Debbie Macomber, bringing us back to Cedar Cove and the Rose Harbor Inn. I was pleased to see Jo Marie's growth in this story, losing her husband Paul has been a difficult plot point and I finally feel she has some peace now. I was a bit surprised at this
Show More
episode's guests--their problems seemed pretty edgy for a Macomber book, but as always, everything turned out ok in the end. The handyman's secrets continue, which will hopefully be continued in the next book.

This installment of the latest Rose Harbor Series is an excellent new Rose Harbor novel. The enchanting way that Debbie Macomber weaves her stories to encompass a feeling of love and renewing among her guests and now herself is amazing. The Jo Marie character has developed into a great asset to the

other characters in the series. Hopefully, their will be many more installments of this series. I have read many Debbie Macomber books and they all have become good friends; they have a unique family and friendship ambiance about them.

Love Letters by Debbie Macomber is the 3rd in the Rose Harbor series and set in Cedar Cove. I had previously read the others in this series as well as the Cedar Cove series being a huge Debbie Macomber fan. But this would be good as a stand alone book too, as the stories of each visiting guest are
Show More
new with each book.

Jo Marie Rose owner of the Rose Harbor Inn, a bed and breakfast is still grieving over the lose of her husband after 2 years. But she is becoming very close and extremely curious about the handyman Mark Taylor.

Her guests include Maggie and Roy Porter who are are visiting the inn for their first vacation alone since the birth of the their two sons. They are trying to renew their marriage.

The next guest is Ellie Reynolds, a young girl who has come to meet Tom a young man she has met and fell in love with through the internet. He also has a surprise in store for her.

I love visiting with Jo Marie, Rover, and Mark at Rose Harbor Inn. A magical healing place where visitors of Cedar Cove drop in from time to time. I look forward to the next book and what will happen at the B&B.

I received an ARC (advanced readers copy) of this book from LibraryThing and Random House Publishing in exchange for my honest review rather it be good or bad. Thank you.

Reading a Debbie Macomber book is like visiting an old friend. You know what to expect but you are always entertained and never disappointed. Love Letters is the third book in the Rose Harbor series and its just as good as the two previous books in the series. There are three stories going on in
Show More
this book: the story of Jo Marie Rose, the owner of the inn, She bought it after her husband died in the war in the Middle East and she is still coming to terms with his loss. She has a growing friendship with her handyman that may or may not lead to romance. The other two stories are about people who check into the inn for the weekend, one is a couple whose marriage is in trouble and one is a young girl who is meeting a man that she has been corresponding with on the internet. All three stories are interesting and the two guest stories are solved by the end while Jo Marie's is left open so that it can continue into the next book. This was an enjoyable fun book to read.

Once again Ms. Macomber delights the reader with her story of the guests at Rose Harbor Inn.
My first impression was that this book started slower than her others but as I continued, each mini-story developed with unexpected twists. One couple visiting the Inn is experiencing ups and downs as they
Show More
consider the challenges in their relationship. Another guest is surprised where an online date leads, and Jo Marie, the Inn's proprietor, starts to heal from losing her husband. In each case, the power of letters plays a big part in the plot.
Although this books stands alone, I'd suggest those just discovering this gifted writer enjoy the other books in the Rose Harbor series to get to know some of the characters and the background of the Inn. For those of us who look forward to each book by this author, this is another most enjoyable read.

The story lines are great, I can't say it any other way.

The Rose Harbor Inn is the gather spot for two different romances - the Porters who are trying to keep their marriage together and Ellie Reynolds who is finally spreading her wings and meeting her Internet boyfriend. Both are full of

surprises!

I can always get involved when reading a Debbie Macomber Book. I have read several of her series and I enjoy she carries over some of the characters from one novel to the next. I was just a little disappointed in Love Letters. At the end nothing is wrapped up and you are left hanging about all of
Show More
the relationships. You do not know if there will be a happy ending for any of them and when.

Debbie Macomber's newest release, Love Letters is another delightfully charming addition to her heartwarming Rose Harbor series. In this installment, Jo Marie Rose's curiosity about her friend and handyman Mark Taylor gets the best of her and she tries to dig a little deeper in his past.
In the meantime, she is preparing to welcome her latest guests, Ellie Reynolds and Maggie & Roy Porter. Maggie and Roy have been going through a rough patch and they are hoping an anniversary getaway will heal their troubled marriage. Ellie Reynolds is nervously preparing for her first face to face meeting with Tom Lynch, the man she has been dating on-line for the past several months. All of the B&B guests have high expectations for their weekend retreat but unexpected revelations threaten their burgeoning happiness.

Although Jo Marie is happily ensconced in her new life, she is still coming to terms with her husband's death. She keeps busy with the B&B and now the rose garden is finally complete, she hires Mark to begin the next phase in her property upgrades. Jo Marie continues to push Mark for answers about his past but the gruff and grouchy handyman stubbornly refuses to reveal any information about his background. Their friendship is unaffected by Jo Marie's prying and when Mark begins to grow concerned about her unusual behavior, he makes some very shrewd observations and offers her some astute advice. This becomes a bit of a turning point in their relationship but their future remains very uncertain.

Maggie and Roy are still very much in love but they are unable to forgive one another for their past mistakes. Despite her determination to trust Roy, Maggie cannot keep her suspicions at bay. Roy's stubborn refusal to discuss their problems also makes it impossible for them to let go of their hurt and anger. As soon as they pass a major hurdle, Maggie makes a shocking realization that could destroy the progress they have made.

Ellie is excited but a bit apprehensive about finally meeting Tom face to face. Deciding to trust her instincts, she tries to put her mother's fears and warnings out of her mind and after she and Tom enjoy a wonderful first date, she is sure she has made the right choice. Reassured that she has nothing to worry about, Ellie is stunned when she learns Tom's real motive for getting to know her.

The three stories are seamlessly interwoven into a compelling story that is impossible to put down. Ellie's part of the storyline leads to a surprising reconciliation and while not everything is completely wrapped up by the novel's end, a happily ever after is definitely possible. Maggie and Roy's problems appear insurmountable and only time will tell if their marriage will survive long term. Jo Marie and Mark have finally made progress in their relationship, but Mark's tormented past still casts a very large shadow over his future plans.

Love Letters is an incredibly sweet and heartfelt romance that old and new fans of Debbie Macomber's Rose Harbor series are going to love. Although it can be read as a standalone story, I highly recommend the entire series. As always, I am very eager for my next visit with Jo Marie and her guests at the lovely Rose Harbor Inn.

Love Letters by Debbie Macomber
(Rose Harbor #3)

The story of Rose Harbor Inn continues with more visitors to Jo Marie's newly acquired Inn. She has enjoyed keeping her mind busy so that she doesn't dwell on her grief. Her husband died before they they had a chance to even plan for the future. Now,
Show More
she is forced to face the future alone. Of course, there's the incorrigible and mysterious Mark who becomes her handyman.

Jo Marie welcomes a few new visitors in this book with interesting stories. Maggie and Roy come as a last ditch effort to save their marriage. They both admit to the part they played with the mistrust between them. Their story is filled with emotion and difficult decisions.

Then, Ellie comes to stay so that she can meet a live interest she met online. She has come to adore Tom and is anxiously awaiting their time together. The story begins with the typical boy meets girl but then takes an unexpected turn. Ellie is forced to confront issues from her past that she never knew existed.

A local person reserves a room at the inn but is invited to stay with Mark as he does not trust the man intentions. This character will likely have more of a presence in the following novel.

"The inn had worked its enchantment once again, healing wounded hearts, lifting spirits, blessing all who stayed."

This book is a delight to Debbie Macomber fans. It's a nice companion series to the Cedar Cove stories as many of the beloved characters surface from time to time. As always, these books bring you into a community where you feel like you could be home.

JoMarie has her hands full with a couple who are obviously having marriage difficulties, a single women in Cedar Cove to meet a man she has been communicating with on the internet and trying to find out what Mark, her handyman, is trying to keep secret. As proprieter of the Rose Harbor Inn, JoMarie
Show More
treads a fine line between getting involved in her visitors lives and offering support. Maggie and Roy Porter are spending a romantic weekend together while trying to repair their marriage that was torn apart by both of their infidelities. Ellie Reynolds, an over protected twenty something woman, is there to meet a man she has been communicating with over the internet against her mother's wishes. JoMarie is also interested in the past of Mark Taylor her handyman. She feels he is her friend who knows everything about her life, but she knows little about his. As in most if not all of her novels, things work out in the end for the visitors and the reader has a good feeling when they finish this novel. Of course the relationship between Mark and JoMarie is left unsolved so you want to read the next book to find out.
