This is actually the first book I have read from Rachel Dylan and I am totally hooked. Breach of
The author creates a fast-moving legal thriller full of action, suspense, and surprises in the plot that will keep you guessing who the real villain is. The writing is easy to follow, the characters are real and lovable, and the faith component of the story tangible and affirmative. If you enjoy a well-written romantic suspense/legal thriller, you will absolutely love this book.
Our heroine, Mia, is a brilliant corporate defense lawyer who has a broken past but a new life in her faith. She ends up taking a case after the death of her friend and colleague that leads her down a twisted and tangled web of corporate schemes. Noah, our hero, is a private investigator specializing in technology and gets involved in Mia's case when his ex-ATF buddy gets accused of murder. Noah is the steady, dependable, faithful sort who becomes Mia's rock as the case and her life unravel quickly. It's also interesting to see two other perspectives in the plot - one from Owen, the general council of the corporation that Mia is defending, and the other from Ty, the criminal defense lawyer who takes Noah's friend's case pro bono. Will there be future books about Owen and/or Ty?!?! We can only hope....

Trust is book 3 in the Atlanta Justice series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Now that I've finished the book, I need to go back and read books 1 and 2!!The author creates a fast-moving legal thriller full of action, suspense, and surprises in the plot that will keep you guessing who the real villain is. Breach of Trust begins with a shocking murder that has main character Mia Shaw reeling. She knows who did it and is determined to see justice done. But Noah Ramirez, friend of the suspect and partner to Mia’s best friends’ husbands, knows differently. The two clash on the facts of the case, but soon the desire to get to the truth makes them allies in an investigation in which no one can be trusted. The two are drawn to each other immediately, but past experiences keep them wary and at arms length — at least at first. Mia and Noah’s romance feels oh so right, and romance fans will love how their relationship progresses. And those who like danger, mystery, and twists and turns will love how Dylan weaves all the seemingly disconnected story lines together. I have to admit I suspected everybody! As one after another suspect was eliminated, the author had me re-examining and puzzling. There are a number of secondary characters, both familiar and new, that added to the story in interesting and fun ways. Two in particular would be great in their own book — hint, hint! 😉 Faith is always an important element in a Dylan novel, and both Mia and Noah are believers who came to trust in God in contrasting ways. I loved how Dylan showed their growing faith and the commonality they had despite their very different journeys.
If you’ve read books 1 and 2 in the Atlanta Justice series, then you are in for a treat with Breach of Trust. If you haven’t, now is the time to pick up all three books and begin a romantic suspense binge-read!

In addition to dealing with Chase’s murder, Mia is tapped to take over one of Chase’s biggest cases but finding what she needs proves to be difficult at best. Throughout the novel there are continuing threats on Mia’s life while handling a major case, grieving, and wrestling with her nightmares. Mia is a woman who is top notch in her field and is used to taking charge of her life, however with recent events Mia is finding that a real challenge.
Mia is a tough cookie, but she has a heart of gold toward people. Mia is a young believer in the Lord and her faith is challenged. However, she has other friends whose faith and knowledge help her walk through the valley one day at a time. Mia has dated before, but the men seemed to be unable to care for her in a way she longs for regardless of her mother’s teachings about life, men and God.
The whole series is engaging because it deals with the legal arena, but more so it shows how faith can be lived out in day-to-day interactions with other people and situations. If you read all three books, you will discover who Mia’s friends are and enjoy their stories as well. Rachel Dylan is a blooming author so watch for whatever she plans to share with audiences sometime in the future.
Until then, read the first novel titled, Deadly Proof followed by Lone Witness before you enjoy A Breach of Trust. You don’t want to miss the suspenseful tales in this series!

The story took a while to get going and there's a lot of legal wrangling. I guessed early on who one of the "bad guys" was--though the conspiracy was a bit more complex than what I'd originally thought. I'm rarely able to guess "whodunit" correctly, so . . .

Just three pages into this book I knew that Breach of Trust was going to be a book that would be hard to put down. Corporate lawyer Mia Shaw finds her colleague murdered in his apartment and she is determined to find who killed her friend. What follows is a story filled with twists and turns and a
Author Rachel Dylan has practiced law for over a decade and she is a litigator at a top legal firm. It is this experience and expertise that help make this book and this series so believable. Breach of Trust is the third book in the Atlantic Justice series and it is a great legal suspense novel. It is also wonderful Christian fiction and Dylan's personal beliefs are very evident in this story that has hope, faith, and forgiveness. She knows how to express the conflicts that are often experienced by both new converts and seasoned Christians. I especially enjoyed one conversation about faith between Mia and Noah. Mia's faith is new but Noah grew up as a preacher's kid. Mia confides that she was raised with no sense of of religion, faith, or even morals and Noah admits that, even though faith has long been a part of him, he still had to find his own way as an adult. 'God has an interesting way of tugging at our hearts and opening up our minds. Using the dark and painful challenges of life to speak into our hearts.' (p. 168)
Dylan also uses this last book in the Atlanta Justice series to show how the characters from the previous books are doing. Sophie and Kate are now happy and content with Cooper and Landon and it becomes obvious that they are determined to help their friend Mia discover her own happiness and contentment. Watching Mia and Noah's personal relationship develop as they work to find the killer would be a perfect way to end this series and I found myself rooting for them.
Breach of Trust is filled with adventure and intrigue and there are many touching moments as we say goodbye to these characters. They will be missed!

I'm quite a fan of this book's cover. It's so on point for legal suspense, and it is indeed the legal side of the stories that I've most enjoyed about the Atlanta Justice series. I appreciate how there are multiple sides to the case(s) in this story with a number of moving parts to it all.
Now, in light of those multiple sides, along with multiple characters' perspectives coming into play, I don't consider this book to be romantic suspense. The other characters' points of view and storylines that have nothing to do with the main couple's romance means, well, it's not exactly a romance. But since romance isn't what I read this author for anyway, I didn't mind the several POVs.
The redundancy in the novel got to me at times, with characters using the same expressions and doing the same little actions over and over, and the narrator sometimes rehashes the same information. And as much as I enjoyed most of the novel, it unraveled for me toward the end. It's like the story climaxed a bit early, and then there was too much left to tie up and too many twists thrown in after the momentum was gone. Also, it seems that some of the fairly long ending might be more for the benefit of setting up another novel or series.
Nevertheless, I think plenty of other ChristFic suspense fans will enjoy this one.
