It’s an awesome book. But you have to read it to find out

Enjoyed this one. This whole series is very good - each one stands on its own, and yet links to the others - making them relevant but you can read them in any order. (Which is good since that is what I am ending up doing!) Sophie in this one made me want to shake her a bit. But then, I guess we all

go through really dumb periods where we have to learn to grow up. :)

This is the second novel in the Daughters of Blessing series and centers on seventeen-year-old Sophie who elopes with Hamre and moves to Seattle. The title of the book says it all: Sophie faces more than one dilemma as circumstances in her life overwhelm her. The author tells an interesting story

while being consistent with the tenets of Christian fiction. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. The series is set in North Dakota very early in the 20th century, and the author does a good job of recreating that time period for her readers, including the excitement over a washing machine that could wash and wring out clothes. (We’ve come a long way, baby!)

Book 2 in this series (and I found there are two other series before this one, that deals with the Bjorklund family: "Red River of the North"- 6 books, "Return to Red River"-3 books, then this series-"Daughter of Blessing"-4 books, followed by "Home to Blessing"-3 books, and finally, "Song of

Blessing"-4 books). I am going back to see how this family all came together.

In this story you will follow Sophie, who always dreamed of leaving the Red River Valley and traveling to other places. She will talk Hamre Bjorklund into marrying her and taking her with him back to his home as a fisherman in Ballard, Washington. But she will discover that her hasty decision was not without its consequences. She truly loved her Hamre but life in a fisherman's town was not what she was expecting. Then tragedy will strike and Sophie will have to find her way back home pregnant and alone. How will her family react to her return, and how she finds her place in the town of Blessing will show you her fighting spirit.

Another good and honest look at the Norwegian people and how they lived their lives in North Dakota in the year 1901. Looking forward to many more stories about this town and the people in it.
