I was in tears when I finished reading "A Passion Most Pure" - albeit, they were tears of joy, and satisfaction, for the ending. However, they weren't the first tears shed during the reading of this wonderful novel!! Julie Lessman keeps her readers "hanging" until the last few pages of her novels,

the passion and unexpected twists leave one breathless and emotionally wrought!! I became so emotionally invested in the characters of "A Passion Most Pure", it was hard to put the novel down, and I didn't want it to end!!

"A Passion Most Pure" is the story of Faith O'Connor, and her quest to find the husband God has chosen for her. The journey is greatly complicated by the jealousy of her sister, Charity. Faith and Charity are daughters of Marcy and Patrick O'Connor, whose romance is portrayed in "A Light in the Window". Each member of the O'Connor family is featured in a separate book - "A Passion Most Pure" is followed by "A Passion Redeemed", "A Passion Denied", "A Hope Undaunted", "A Heart Revealed", and "A Love Surrendered".

I am overjoyed at starting the next novel in the series - Julie's writing has stolen my heart, "hook, line, and sinker"!!

Two sisters, Faith and Charity, are both interested in the deviish Colin. Faith tries to resist his charms, howevers, since she knows that he is not a Godly man. Charity dives right in however, causing much heartbreak to her parents and sister. More complications arise in this love triangle, as the

sisters trade beaus--and harsh words--in a soap opera type plot, though this is set in the time of world war I. While this had a strong Christian aspect, the characters were highly motivated by their passions, and could hardly seem to keep their hands off of each other. This seem to be their driving motivation, which made this love story somewhat shallow in my opinion.

The cover first drew me to A Passion Most Pure but once I opened the book I could not put it down! There are lots of great reviews so I will only add that this is a RICH story full of romantic tension, twist and turns when you least expect them and wonderfully REAL characters. Julie has an easy

If you miss this book you'll be missing a treasure. I am so looking forward to book 2 and 3 in this series. I HIGHLY recommend this book to all of you who love a great historical romantic saga. You won't be sorry you picked this one up.

Faith thought she knew her sister- until she finds her in the bushes with the man Faith loves. From page one the rift can only grow wider as these two sisters battle for the same man. The trials in this Irish American family only escalate as loving sisters turn on each other, their love for the

This was my first book by Julie Lessman and I was not disappointed. This book is long, 477 pages and I didn’t know if she could hold the tension through the entire novel. I was never bored during one page during the story. There were times I felt I was eavesdropping on the characters, my heart breaking at times and others so mad I could have throttled one or two myself. There is something to be said of an author who draws forth a reader’s emotions, Julie knows how to wield that all too fine tool and does it masterfully. This book certainly does seep passion from nearly every page, albeit appropriate, nothing sensual, but she knows how to spark the imagination and captivate the reader into the story. Never was I sorrier to see a book come to it’s end. I am so glad there is a sequel!

A beautiful book by Lessman. A beautiful love story between and man and a woman and between and a woman and her GOD and between a man and his GOD. No matter our struggles, God will always provide us with a path to where our heart belong.

Once I started this book, I could not put it down. I absolutely love the O'Connor family and recommend this book as well as all the others by Julie Lessman. This book is written with such feeling; passion for God and family and friends. Prepare to sit back and enjoy the read. I sure did!
I

downloaded this book as a freebie (Thanks, Julie!), even though I have the three books in this trilogy. It is easier for my arthritic hands to hold an e-reader as these books are lengthy and heavy for me to hold.
It is still available as a free download.
I noticed some negative reviews. Don't pay any attention to them. Julie addresses issues that face real people and shows how solutions to problems and struggles within self and between family members and friends are found at the throne of God.
