A good story of a family with strong faith in their God in the year 1835. The journey of the Kane family will begin with them working on the docks in Boston, and eventually take you to Texas where Alan Kane moves to learn how to become a rancher, and where his brother Adam will follow; and

eventually even more of his family.

This story also was a great historical book that takes you through the events that will lead up to the Alamo, and makes you understand a little of what really went on with the folks who had to fight for the Alamo and why. But in the middle of a strong faith and the courage and strength to fight in a cause you believe in, there is also a very tender love story involving Alan, his brother Adam, and beautiful Julia Miller, who catches the eyes of both brothers.

The authors do a great job of taking history and making it come alive with a family who have struggles and heartaches, but also a strong love and bond that cannot be broke. Looking forward to "Web of Destiny", the next book in this series.
