Little has been written about the Christians of the Holy Land, mostly personal impressions and experiences of foreign nationals during their visits or short time stay in Palestine.The book "Christian Presence in the Holy Land" written by Fuad Farah, an indigenous Christian with more than forty years of deep involvement chairing elected church councils, is a historical documentation as well as a detailed account of current issues related to the local Christian community. Issues such as demography, emigration and their deteriorating status socially, economically and politically are raising well-founded doubts in regard to their future prospects.The characteristics and importance of Christian presence in the Holy Land as well as the Arab-Israeli conflict and the rise of Jewish and Islamic extremism are well discussed in the book.
