repairs she discusses, I guess I can't say for sure, but from my perusal, this looks like a great guide for any renter (or homeowner) for the kinds of things that are quite likely to come up (weather-proofing windows and doors; unclogging toilets and drains; basic dishwasher, dryer, and washing machine maintenance; rehanging doors; replacing cabinet hinges; and so on). Also includes tips about what not to do, a guide to finding an apartment and checking your lease for nonsense, and a list of the simple tools it's good to have on hand. I saw this at my library today, and while I largely checked it out to support my library's buying (and prominently displaying!) the book, I enjoyed the hour I spent with it. I think it would be a great gift for someone getting their own place for the first time.
