Like most young men, Paul Banks grew up playing sports and struggling to understand the feelings rushing through his teenage body. After his mother and sister die suddenly in a car accident, Paul's life changes forever. Neither Paul nor his father seemed able to cope with the memories that living in the house they all shared. So Paul and his father decide to move to Texas, and to begin their lives anew. Paul's father, a pastor, finds a new church in which to do his work, and Paul makes a fresh start as a senior year in high school. Upon his arrival in Texas, Paul meets Jeremy Groll, the son of one of the deacon's at his father's new church. A spark soon ignites between the two young men. Feelings like he had never before experienced awaken in Paul-feelings for someone of the same sex. Now Paul must endure prejudices from not only his schoolmates, but his own father as well. Paul soon learns that his love cannot be oppressed by others. Realizing that he must be true to himself, Paul decides finally to follow his heart.
