Description

A book about the conflict and confrontations which have characterised the relationship between three culturally contiguous ethnic groups in the Niger Delta, the Ijaw, the Urhobo and the Itsekiri. It addresses the cultural domination and over-lordship of the Itsekiri, arbitrary local government creations; and the jurisdiction of the authority of the Olu of Warri. It examines the contentious issue of ownership of Warri land, the oil fields, and royalties from the oil. The text highlights the discrimination in employment in Federal institutions and the oil companies and shows how these various factors lie at the heart of the intractable conflicts.
