Bruyn asserts that a major task of our time is to help create a new economic and social order, and asks how we can live in the virtue of that Life that takes away the necessity of the corporate state. He reviews the economic reform ideas and practices of Friends over time, and states the needs for reform as he sees them in 1980. This is a helpful and clear statement of the issue, somewhat out of date in its specifics of course, but useful and as relevant a challenge as ever.
