Brinton writes with his usual graceful clarity, understanding of Quakerism, and knowledge of Quaker history about Friends' process of decision making. His points on the subtleties of just what unity is are accompanied by practical points on clerking and weighty Friends, and an emphasis on the crucial role of love in Quaker process. While several more recent PHPs on Quaker decision practice are brilliant and inspiring, Brinton's work here provides a profound and insightful foundation.
