Translated from Japanese, told in their own words, these are the stories of some of the people who survived the atomic bomb blast on Aug. 9, 1945 related to Dr. Nagai several years later. What dwells in their hearts is not hatred for the people who dropped the bomb but regret for their own actions

in the aftermath. Dr. Nagai asserts that the studies done here and in Hiroshima did not focus enough on the toll felt by the survivors. That was were the true and lasting damage occurred.

A short read, well worth the time.

Heartwrenching.

The book consists of heart-wrenching, honestly-told stories by survivors of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, most of whom were Catholic, most of whom were related to the author, Takashi Nagai.
