Description

The Quaker tradition, with its roots in the seventeenth century and its long line of spiritual teachers, continues to offer a distinctive and vibrant brand of spirituality, one that combines a spiritual sensibility with a strong impulse toward ethical witness in the world. This volume offers a general introduction to Quaker spirituality that covers its history, significant voices (from George Fox to Douglas Steere), and its characteristic themes. These include silent worship, the way of simplicity, prayer, discernment, an emphasis on inner growth, and the gentle effort to walk in the Light.

I can't believe I didn't write a review of this book! I will have to reread! But as I recall, I thought it to be very well written and covered more than one "type" of Quaker.
