After her husband dies, Deborah Haskin thinks she will never love again. But then she meets Gideon Clermont, who has served with her husband in the Korean War. He begins to help her around the house, and after some time, the two fall in love and are happily married. Soon Deborah begins to realize that Gideon has an illness--alcoholism.
