Beginning with a brief history of the region, Israel: Past and Present features overlays of Jerusalem throughout the ages, important religious sites such as the Western Wall and the Church at Kursi, and famed archaeological ruins like Masada and Caesarea. Works of art found at the sites, such as mosaics, frescoes and sculpture, are explored to learn about the use of these ancient locales and the lives of the people who inhabited them.
