This is a collection of toned-down and simplified stories of Arthur and his knights, which I suppose is intended for children. It's not bad, and it does place a great deal of importance on the Grail, which seems (to me) to be neglected in modern retellings that mostly focus on Merlin. However, this

book is a bit silly. Uther has Merlin transform him into the Lord of Cornwall so that he can 'have dinner' with Ygraine. Vivian enchants Merlin because he's tired and she thinks he could use a good rest. Lancelot loves Guenevere, but in a completely platonic manor. Mordred doesn't come up even once.

If you want to introduce your child to some of the basics of Arthurian legend without explaining complicated issues like incest and betrayal, then perhaps this book would be a good start. I would not, however, recommend it is as a choice selection of literature to anyone over the age of 11 or so.
