I think we all have those relatives that are seemingly the same every time we see them and we'd like to know more about them. The children in this book try many different creative ways to get their aunts and uncle to open up so they can get to know them. Although the parents aren't too thrilled

with the children's method, it's just what the aunts and uncle needed. This is very cute with bit of humorous stereotyping.

This book has no purposeful meaning , the pictures are not interesting and the humor of the the book; I do not find it funny. Personally, I would not recommend this book to any student of mine because I don't think it's a good quality book. Then I took the time to research "OY FEH SO?" and found

out the the book is based on a Jewish family with a Yiddish background. Unfamiliar with the culture, I now know why I didn't like the book. I could not relate to the story so it was not a good read for me. Someone who's more familiar with the culture may have the opposite opinion.

A drolly entertaining story about a niece and nephews doing all sorts of outrageous things to get a reaction from their imperturbable aunts and uncle.

Children have a hard time relating to their elderly relatives until they manage to make them laugh (at themselves, but still, they are happy to do so and are not offended.) I am reminded of Jon J Muth's Zen Ties, which I actually enjoyed more.
