My mom used to read this to me when I was little. When I'm having a bad day and missing my mom I pull this out and it always seems to calm me down. It's a great childrens book.

This book would be good for kindergarten because it is very simple and teaches what a shadow is. The bear is out fishing and looses his fish and on the way home discovers that there is something following him. He tries to nail it down, burry it and more and can't. Good lesson book.

This is a delightful book about Bear and his quest to escape his shadow. Asch's colorful illustrations and simple, appealing plot are winners with very young children.

Love this one, and so do the younger students. Kids who understand that Bear is never going to be able to lose his shadow enjoy all the silly things that he does, but I've found that even the youngest kids, who don't yet know about light and shadows, enjoy Bear's truce with his shadow.

The message shows light and shadows. The book can be used in Kindergarten through second grade for art lessons and how shadows work in the light.
